FLY With Airlines - How to...

1.Buy airline tickets at least 1-2 months in advance
That is rule No1 – try not to buy tickets on the night before the flight (Last minute purchase). Generally, the closer is the flight day the higher are the fares. As the cheapest flight tickets are sold out first, then goes middle price tickets and finally only most expensive tickets remains. Why pay twice or three times the price you could have paid buying the same air tickets for 2 months ago? Remember, advance purchase can save your money, but before you purchase a tickets, please READ CAREFULLY "Fare Rules" and "Terms And Conditions". Every tickets have differents rules. Remember SUPERSAVER tickets usually is NO CHANGES ALLOWED/NON ENDORSEMENT/NOT REFUNDABLE. It's means tickets are valid on the flight date shown only!

MYR1529 booked 2 days in advance
MYR1378 booked 14 days in advance
MYR798 booked 45 days in advance

See?! Different right? ;)


2. Schedule your flight flexibly
If you just want to go somewhere in March, do not stick to March 14th as a departure day – check out the flights the day after or the day before. Since the volumes of passengers are smaller on certain days, eg. on Sundays or in the middle of the week, the fares may and do vary significantly. Or there may be no direct flights on certain days, which usually are cheaper.


3. Check the flights from the neighbourhood airports
The flight from another airport can be much cheaper. I do save a lot by choosing a more distant airport and cheaper flights from it. Just bear in mind the extra costs of the travel to and from that other airport.


4. Check out round-trip fares, even if you are flying one-way
It may sound ridiculously, but sometimes round-trip travel is cheaper than one-way. If you travel for business pusposed, maybe u can choose for middle fares. Usually, middle fares still cheaper and the tickets can make a changes. Please aware your validity for your tickets. International tickets they have many types of validity for example 1 months tickets, 45days tickets, 3months tickets, 6 months tickets and 12months tickets.


5.Do not travel during holidays
Naturally, people are coming home for holidays, such as, Hari raya Eidulfitri, Chinese New Year, Christmas or School Holiday, and they crowd every single seat of a plane. And of course the fares also rise. Therefore you should either try not to travel on those days or get the tickets half the year in advance. By the way, in January the fares usually drop hard. Before you select your date and destination, PLEASE READ OR ASK EMBARGO DATES.


6. Be smart in using systems comparing air tickets prices
The hunting of cheap airline tickets starts in its price comparing and booking through websites. They give general view of the prices and list the airlines with direct flights.
However, although those agencies usually cry out loud they offer the best prices ever, you can still find a better deal. First of all, it is due to the service fee charged by the agency. Besides they sometimes exclude the sales of the tickets offered by various airlines, or miss the offers of low fares carriers, such as Cathy Pasific, Thai Airways or Emirates. Therefore the hunting usually continues at the direct websites of the airlines. ;)


7.Browse the websites of airlines. Low cost carriers airlines too...
Airline companies frequently offer smaller prices if you book them directly via their website. Low-fares carriers might also offer knock-out deals, but make sure that after you count in all the hidden costs, the fare still remains worth attention. Desicion are in your hands!


8.Follow “Promotion/Sales” by ordering the newsletter, television
All airlines sometimes organize “sales” and sell very cheap flight tickets for a short while. For example in Malaysia, we have many MATTA Fares, MITF Fares and etc.If the scheduled trip is not too immediate, I order several newsletters to catch up with the most decent offers.
Usually most sales will be appear through newspaper.


9.If you travel out of the continent, try to do it via London or the like
The largest airports usually offer the greatest deal on transcontinental flights.

10.Choose electronic tickets
If you buy e-tickets, you won’t be charged its delivery expenses. Some e-tickets if you already make a amend, you need reissue your ticket over the ticket office counter.
